Introduction of Protozoa

Protozoa:-
The word Protozoa is derived from two Greek words Protos-which means first and zoon which means animal. The animal whose body is made up of single cell and can be visible only under the microscope is called protozoa. Protozoa are considered to be the first animals developed on the earth. Some of the protozoa have true nucleus (Eukaryotic nucleus) where as some has primitive nucleus (prokaryotic nucleus)
Eukaryotic nucleus- The nucleus with nuclear membrane, nucleoplasm, nucleolus and chromatin fibres is called Eukaryotic nucleus. Eukaryotic nucleus is found in developed animals and plants.
Prokaryotic nucleus:- the nucleus which consist of chromatin fibres is called prokaryotic nucleus. The chromatin fibre is not enclosed in nuclear membrane. It is found as coil of thread in cytoplasm. There is no nucleolus present in it. This type of nucleus is found in some protozoa and virus.
